I graduated from Lycée International in 2022 with the spécialités Mathematics and Economics and Social Sciences (SES). My love for these subjects led me to pursue a Double Bachelors in Artificial Intelligence and Organisational Sciences at Université Paris Dauphine - PSL.

I came to France in 2017 from Johannesburg, South Africa, where I had spent five years. Joining the Français Spécial track in 4ème was extremely challenging but an incredibly fulfilling experience. I spent ten hours of rigorous language and literature lessons each week and joined the choir at Lycée International to perfect my French. Ultimately, I was fluent by the end of the year. However, Français Spécial taught me more than just a language. The field trips to the Assemblée nationale, Sénat and Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte helped me immerse in the French culture and traditions.

My learning experience was further enriched by the support and opportunities provided by the British Section.

The curriculum challenged me to think critically, communicate effectively, and approach problems with creativity and resilience. From literature classes that delved deep into the works of Shakespeare and Margaret Atwood to history lessons that brought alive pivotal moments in British history, every subject was taught with passion and precision.

The supportive community within the British Section was another highlight of my experience. Teachers and staff went above and beyond to ensure that every student felt valued and encouraged to reach their full potential. Every student was given individual feedback on essays while preparing for the IGCSEs and the OIB. Their guidance was instrumental in helping me navigate challenges and seize opportunities, both academically and personally.

I am extremely grateful for the British Section who have offered me more than just an education; it provided a nurturing environment that fostered academic excellence, cultural awareness, and a sense of belonging. As I pursue my higher education and career, the skills and values instilled in me by the British Section proved to be invaluable. Looking back, I realise that the British Section was not just a part of my education—it was the foundation upon which I built my future. It equipped me with the tools to dream big and work hard to achieve those dreams. For that, I will always be proud to call myself an alumna of this exceptional institution.
