Before applying, we encourage parents to determine which option best fits their child’s needs to follow the school’s bilingual, dual curriculum programme:

• Bilingual: your child has native, age-appropriate, English and French language skills
• Anglophone: your child has native, age-appropriate, English skills but limited French language skills (Français Spécial)
• Francophone: your child has native, age-appropriate, French language skills and advanced English language skills (6ème Fast-Track & Seconde Accueil)

All of our students attend school full-time at the Lycée International site or one of our Partner Schools. Bilingual Primary pupils stay in their local French school and join us for two half-days a week at the Lycée International site (Externé).

The application process is as follows:

1. Application Fee: Pay the non-refundable fee to cover the costs of administration and entrance assessments to receive your personalised online application form:

• Maternelle applications: 160 € per child
• Primary applications: 200 € per child
• Secondary applications: 250 € per child
• Sixième Fast-Track and Seconde Accueil applications: 150 € per child

2. Application Form: A portfolio of your child’s academic history and language profile. Complete the personalised application form, the dossier d’inscription, and upload the following documents:

• Motivation Letter: A short reflection from the parents (and the student, for older years) on why they wish to join a bilingual, dual-curriculum system.
• Proof of identity: A photo of your child and a copy of your child’s passport, national ID card, or birth certificate.
• School Reports: The last two years of school reports (translated into English or French if necessary).
• Any other requested documents.

(January – March)

If the dossier meets our academic criteria, your child will be invited to an assessment.

We do not publish past papers, as we are testing for natural aptitude and linguistic skills rather than "coached" knowledge.

• Nursery and Primary Applicants: Usually involves a 1-on-1 interview and a written task focusing on reading comprehension and creative expression (Primary only).
• Secondary Applicants (Collège & Lycée): Formal written examinations in English Language/Literature and History-Geography. Successful candidates are then invited for an oral interview.
• Français Spécial: Assessments focus heavily on English mother-tongue proficiency and the child’s aptitude to learn a second language rapidly.
• 6ème Fast-Track: Formal written examinations in English and French Language. Successful candidates are then invited for an oral interview.

(April)

The British Section Admissions Committee meets to review all candidates.

• Recommendation: If successful, the British Section "recommends" your child for a place to the Head of the French school (Proviseur, Principal or Directeur).
• The Waiting List: Due to high demand, some qualified candidates may be put on a waiting list in the event places become available later in the school year.

(May – June)

Once the British Section has offered a place, you must complete the registration forms, pay the British Section admission fees and register with the French state system. This is a mandatory step to ensure your child is legally enrolled in a French school.

• For Lycée International Campus: Registration is handled by the Lycée International administration.
• For Partner Schools: Registration is handled by the local Town Hall (Mairie) or the specific partner school.
