Enrichment

The British Section currently offers a range of extracurricular activities including sports and outdoor based activities that support our students’ social and personal development outside the classroom.

In response to parent feedback, we are now extending the range of enrichment opportunities on offer, to includes more opportunities to join clubs, outdoor learning, arts and culture pursuits, sports and potential trips and other informal learning activities outside the classroom.

Evidence shows that engaging in enrichment activities improves young people’s wellbeing, mental health and belonging, by reducing stress, enhancing social connection and overcoming any occasional feelings of loneliness. Taking part also helps to build important social skills, promoting teamwork and collaboration, as well as fostering resilience and perseverance.

Anglophone activities that enhance confidence

At the British Section, an additional benefit of these activities is that they take place in English which means that students benefit from the additional opportunity to build their confidence within an anglophone environment.

Within the content of international learning, anglophone enrichment has the dual impact of enhancing language confidence and competence in addition to the benefits outlined above.

This develops verbal communication within formal and informal contexts, and furthermore may equip students for the future should they choose to continue their education in English, regardless of discipline of study, whether in France or the UK, or indeed elsewhere.
