Choosing a school for your child is about more than just a language; it is about choosing a future. While a traditional international school provides a bubble of English education abroad, and the standard French system offers local integration, the British Section offers something unique: the Dual Curriculum.
- Truly Bicultural: With 6 to 8 hours of native-level British instruction per week, pupils develop the intellectual flexibility to move seamlessly between two educational cultures.
- The BFI Advantage: The Baccalauréat Français International (BFI) is a rigorous, world-recognised qualification that proves a student’s ability to work at a high academic level in two languages. It is a "gold standard" for top-tier universities in the UK, France, and North America.
- Integrated, Not Isolated: Our pupils are fully integrated into the French state-school system. They benefit from the strengths of the French academic curriculum alongside their British Section education.
Our Unique Educational Model
One Unique Model, a Network of Schools
The British Section is more than a single campus; we are a vibrant community spread across five partner schools in the Saint-Germain-en-Laye and Le Pecq area.
- The Externé System: A unique arrangement where younger pupils attend their local French school for most of the week and join us at the Lycée International for two half-days of British education. It allows children to make local friends while attending native English classes.
- Français Spécial: Arriving with no French? Our renowned immersion programme helps non-francophone children integrate rapidly, ensuring they are fluent and confident in their new environment within a year.

More Than Just a Classroom
While our academic results are consistently outstanding, we believe school should be a place where children feel they belong. The British Section is a community of 800+ pupils supported by a dedicated Parents’ Association and a staff that prioritises well-being as an essential ingredient of academic success.
From trips, Shakespeare workshops and debating competitions to our extensive library and university guidance, we provide the "extras" that make a British education so sought after: confidence, curiosity, and a sense of fun.
